How we got here

Before we built Go Powder, we went out and talked to manufacturers around Red Deer to find out if there was a need for more powder coating services. They all had similar issues: not enough coating capacity in town, some were sending work out of town, and lead times often ran too long. No shop in the area could handle small, medium and large jobs quickly at a fair price.

With this information, we set out to design a facility that met the needs of the local manufacturing sector. The facility was designed with manufacturers in mind, built for fast turnarounds while maintaining a high quality finish, all at reasonable rates. We opened in March 2011, and so began the journey of building a reputable business supporting Red Deer and area.

Media blasting, coating and curing all happen in one heated building, so weather is never a factor for Go Powder Inc. A number of local coating companies media blast outside, with big pieces blasted in tents. In the cold, blast pots freeze up, operators need more breaks, and when it gets cold enough the work stops completely. Because we have everything under one roof, weather is never a factor. This translates into reliable, consistent turnaround.

It is worth noting that we built redundant systems into the facility. This is important because, despite our preventative maintenance program, equipment does break down from time to time. Because we have redundant systems and parts in place, we can keep working without costly shutdowns. We also have solid relationships with multiple local service companies that maintain our equipment and can resolve breakdowns in a timely fashion.

We train on the product

Our coaters are trained by the powder manufacturers.

Who we work for
